Ride for Cancer Postcard

Hey there!
So after my last blog entry this next one is probably going to seem less morbid. But not exactly a bowl full of sunshine.
It's meant to raise money for research for Cancer. And it's suppose to reference this in some way.

I kind of went the more symbolic way. See where it took me. I think it turned out okay. :)

I think I should probably explain. The girl is like dead. But coming back to life because of the fairy things above her. ZOMBIE! No, I'm kidding.
But really, the girl is symbolizing a person with cancer (not to say that they are dead, but feeling hopeless, and lost), and the fairies are the research for cancer, bringing her back to life, or giving her hope.
That may or may not of been another Zelda reference..

I'm not sure if it was okay to go all dark with a subject like cancer on the plate, since it is kind of a sensitive subject. But, I put hope into it with the pretty fairies. :)

I think that's all.

Expired

Just kind of a warning to anyone really sensitive. My illustration is kind of morbid. If you're offended easily I wouldn't look down..

Okay, so this weeks IF topic is "Expired".
I was actually debating on whether to put this up here or not. I never really know when art is crossing the line or not.. But I remember in art history class the teacher always saying that lots of artist pushed the envelope. (That's not to say mines that far out there. Perhaps just mildly offensive) But I always worry about offending people, cause.. cause I wanna be nice..?

So I figured, if people have any kind of an emotional reaction to this, whether it be shock, find it funny, or just flat out mad at me for 'going there', then I kind of succeeded. Cause that's what art is suppose to do.. right?

Okay, seriously don't know what else to say. I'm just trying to fill space before the picture so that the little warning thing isn't completely useless if the picture is to close to the top that you see it anyways.

Hope it's not terrible that I did this. >.<

Subterranean.

Hey there.
So, this weeks IF topic is Subterranean.

You would not believe how long it took me to think of something for this. I almost thought I was going to have to resort to drawing Diglett from Pokemon. Which would be the only other idea I had for this.
Kind of funny, but I can't imagine it being very challenging to draw..

Don't laugh, (okay, you can laugh) but when I was a kid, my dad convinced me that if I where to dig to far into the ground that I'd end up in China. (I liked to dig holes in the beach, and I was a very gullible kid)
Anyways. This idea just kind of popped into my head at about 4:00 am last night, which woke me up. And I wrote it down, still half asleep, so that I would remember when I woke up today. Since it was so darn important, that it needed to wake me up, it must of been worth remembering, right?

Yeah, good plan Mischa. It's a good thing that my writing is totally legible when my eyes are still all blurry (sarcasm). I almost needed a decoder ring to decipher the random squiggles I'd written. But I did manage you figure it out. :)

Hope you like it!

Shameless self promotion. Postcard.

Hey there.
Are you ready?

No, are you really ready?
Ready for the rainbowy-ist illustration evar?!

Then you may continue. ^-^

Can you tell I like rainbows? Like a lot. >.<
You could probably tell as much from a few of my other illustrations in my blog. Occasionally trying to sneak one into whatever I'm doing. They make everything look better you know?

So, this is a self promotion postcard. It's suppose to have part of my soul in it. Well, I looked into my soul, and honestly, the only thing that's in there is a bunch of rainbows, about a thousand books, and a few of my fandoms, Dexter, House, Doctor Who, Zelda, Shhh!

The background of the top one is actually the background to my, soon to be, laptop skin. I liked it so much, and it worked perfectly for my rainbowed-soul theme. The little cartoon looking character is like my mind if it decided it was going to take the form of something. I actually draw little chibi characters like that a lot. I'm thinking of incorporating that style into a lot more of my stuff.

The black and white image is meant to be the back of the postcard. I just took the colour out of my cartoon character (which by the way; really hard for me. o.o') and placed it on the side. I was thinking of putting another of my characters there instead. But for some reason I like the consistency of putting this one on. That, and you've already seen the coloured version, so it doesn't really detract from the character to see it as just line drawing. They really are meant to be seen in colour.

I think that's all I wanted to say..

Storyboards - Photo Reference

Really quick post before my computer dies!
Here are the story boards that were due today.. Oops.

So I ended up switching the main guy, pretty much because I thought the guy with the glasses kind of looks like Dilbert. Also you can see him better, and I thought seeing the front of the main person might be an important aspect. Heh. Not to mention that the waiter is right beside him, and it actually looks like they're interacting. :D

I kind of like the guy beside him because he looks all pissed off. XD

Okay %11 percent life, gotta go. Byee!

Brave

Rainbows prosper again!
This weeks IF topic is "Brave". And I couldn't think of anyone more brave..

It's Link! From Zelda! :D
Link, is very brave. Not only does he save the princess from Ganon, and Hyrule from some sort of impending doom, but he jumps off of just about anything I tell him to. He does all of this, and more, because he holds the Triforce of Courage.
Couldn't be because I control him..?
Nonesence! He is a hero! He would do all of the things he does, even if I didn't make him. I mean.. he has to. He's Link!

I didn't like the way this turned out at first.. Mostly because the legs make him look a little.. awkward.
But, I've decided I like it now. Link was always a little awkward in my opinion.
An awkward swordsman. XD Such a great mix.

I slipped another rainbow in because I can't help myself. It didn't look finished without the rainbow background. Something about rainbows make everything better. 8D

Cereal Commercial - Concept Illustration (No Reference)

This is my concept art for the commercial story board I'm doing!
I intend to actually do them all. But I thought I should probably put SOMETHING up for class.. So I did the minimum of three. Just for now! I will do the rest. I pinky promise!

I love the last frame.

Say what!?
You ordered cereal? You fool... -.-

You'll be sorry! Cereal is nummy! *nom nom*

Perspective

Homework during reading week!? What is this!?

Naw, I'm just kidding. I mean, what else am I going to do during reading week? Read? What is this.. READ you speak of? You must tell me more. Not now, I'm blogging!

Yes, so.. this weeks IF topic is "Perspective" if you couldn't tell from my, oh so cleverly, titled post.. ^-^'
And, I illustrated my finger squishing someone's head... Maybe I'm just THAT big of a nerd because I actually do this. Like.. a lot. Especially if someone is sad. I don't know how it's suppose to cheer them up. But it makes me happy. 8D Gosh, isn't my perspective a wonderful thing?!

Esh! What a short post. Well I should go. Lots of reading to do, you know? Yup! Reading, reading, reading. :)

Peace!
Don't do that..
No good?
No.
Kay. ^v^ Byee!
