Brave

Rainbows prosper again!
This weeks IF topic is "Brave". And I couldn't think of anyone more brave..

It's Link! From Zelda! :D
Link, is very brave. Not only does he save the princess from Ganon, and Hyrule from some sort of impending doom, but he jumps off of just about anything I tell him to. He does all of this, and more, because he holds the Triforce of Courage.
Couldn't be because I control him..?
Nonesence! He is a hero! He would do all of the things he does, even if I didn't make him. I mean.. he has to. He's Link!

I didn't like the way this turned out at first.. Mostly because the legs make him look a little.. awkward.
But, I've decided I like it now. Link was always a little awkward in my opinion.
An awkward swordsman. XD Such a great mix.

I slipped another rainbow in because I can't help myself. It didn't look finished without the rainbow background. Something about rainbows make everything better. 8D

  1. Maybe he does it to please the ever annoying Navi. :P
The shading is lovely in this illustration.

  2. Yes, Link! The Hero of Time/Space/Twilight/Hyrule/Masks/Seasons/Winds/whatever the next game is! That is indeed a perfect example of bravery right there. :D

I can see what you mean about the legs being awkward, it's kinda like the knees are pointing inward or something. Something seems a little stiff about his tunic, too. But your shading is good, and the block of colour filling the negative space feels right.

(P.S. Clearly the rainbow represents the seven sages!)

  3. HEY! LOOK! LISTEN! ... yeah, that seems to be more than enough incentive to do as she says. As long as she shuts up. XD

The tunic is odd looking. Maybe I'll retry this one later on. I really did have a lot of fun on the pose.. I'll probably fix the legs a little. Maybe keep them still awkward (I think it's kind of endearing), but less... hard to look at.

(Well, clearly that's what I was going for. I was just testing you! O.o' Heh..)
