Okay, so this weeks IF topic is "Expired".
I was actually debating on whether to put this up here or not. I never really know when art is crossing the line or not.. But I remember in art history class the teacher always saying that lots of artist pushed the envelope. (That's not to say mines that far out there. Perhaps just mildly offensive) But I always worry about offending people, cause.. cause I wanna be nice..?
So I figured, if people have any kind of an emotional reaction to this, whether it be shock, find it funny, or just flat out mad at me for 'going there', then I kind of succeeded. Cause that's what art is suppose to do.. right?
Okay, seriously don't know what else to say. I'm just trying to fill space before the picture so that the little warning thing isn't completely useless if the picture is to close to the top that you see it anyways.

I don't think you have anything to worry about. Expired, as far as I know, takes the brain either to morbid or... milk, I guess.

I like the colors and the perspective.... Of course I have a twisted sense of humor so I really like it.

I think it is an interesting concept. It has been done before but that does not take away from the imagery nor does it make it right.

ReplyDeleteOnly, you executed yours waaaaaay better, what with it being coloured nice-like and actually looking finished.
Speaking of colouring! As usual, you've used colours well in this piece! I like that contrast you picked, neat stuff. :D That is also a nice foot, I must say.
Aaaaand yeah other commenting folk have already said it, but my two cents - I think this is more along the lines of 'gallows humour' than straight-up offensiveness. There is a line somewhere between them, and I'm pretty sure you're on the safe side of it. :D
